Prayagraj, 28 Sept (HS): In a befitting tribute to a

distinguished military career spanning nearly three and a half decades, 15 UP

Battalion NCC, Prayagraj, organised a ceremonial retirement visit of Group

Commander Brig Upendra Singh Kandil. The programme was conducted by Col Ritu

Srivastava Rawat, Commanding Officer, 15 UP Battalion NCC, to honour his

exemplary service, inspirational leadership and invaluable contribution to the

NCC fraternity.

Brig Upendra Singh Kandil was commissioned into the Indian

Army in June 1991 and has completed nearly 35 years of dedicated service to the

nation. Throughout his illustrious career, he has upheld the highest traditions

of military service, leadership, discipline and commitment.

During his tenure as Group Commander, his visionary guidance,

personal involvement and constant motivation provided a significant impetus to

the functioning and achievements of 15 UP Battalion NCC and the wider NCC

fraternity in Prayagraj. His leadership and encouragement played an important

role in strengthening NCC activities, enhancing cadet participation and

nurturing a culture of excellence, discipline and achievement.

A High Tea was organised on the occasion, providing an

opportunity for officers, Permanent Instructors, ANOs and NCC cadets to

interact with Brig Upendra Singh Kandil. During the interaction, he shared his

experiences and valuable words of wisdom with the cadets, encouraging them to

remain committed to the core values of discipline, leadership, integrity,

courage, patriotism and selfless service.

His interaction with the cadets was particularly inspiring,

as he encouraged them to make the most of their NCC experience and develop

themselves into responsible, disciplined and confident citizens capable of

contributing meaningfully to the nation.

Battalion NCC, expressed her sincere appreciation for the leadership, guidance

and motivation extended by Brig Upendra Singh Kandil during his tenure. She

highlighted his significant contribution towards the growth, performance and

strengthening of 15 UP Battalion NCC and NCC activities in Prayagraj.

The officers, ANOs, Permanent Instructors and cadets of 15

UP Battalion NCC expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Brig Upendra Singh

Kandil for his distinguished service, guidance and inspirational leadership.

The occasion was marked by a deep sense of pride, respect and camaraderie as

the battalion paid tribute to a leader whose contribution will remain an

important part of its journey.

On behalf of the entire battalion, 15 UP Battalion NCC

conveyed its warmest wishes to Brig Upendra Singh Kandil for a healthy, happy

and fulfilling retired life. His legacy of leadership, motivation and service

will continue to inspire generations of NCC cadets and the NCC fraternity in
