Greater Noida/Lucknow, 27 Sept (HS): On the third day of the
UP International Trade Show 2026 (UPITS), which provides a global platform to
the art, skills and craftsmanship of Uttar Pradesh, the pavilion of Uttar
Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) was buzzing with talent, creativity
and enthusiasm to learn. Since Sunday was a holiday, a large number of
families, youth, children and the elderly visited the pavilion and not only saw
the traditional art and products of the state closely, but also got the
experience of learning many skills by doing them themselves.
The talents of young children were a special attraction at
UPSDM's Skills Forum on Sunday. Children received thunderous
applause from the audience with their performances on stage. Young people also
showcased their creativity through singing and fine arts. Using the theme
Skills, young people gave shape to their imaginations on stage
through color.
What was remarkable was that not only young people, but also
everyone from children to the elderly, showcased their talents and skills on
stage. The first-ever Skills Forum aims to connect young people and
the general public with skills, careers, and creative activities while also
showcasing their talents.
Live demos of various skills were a major attraction for
visitors at the UPSDM pavilion. From traditional crafts to modern skills, every
stall offered something new to see and learn.
At the pottery and terracotta stalls, visitors tried their
hand at shaping clay to create beautiful artworks. At the Lucknow Chikankari
stall, people got a closer look at the intricate needle-and-thread workmanship
and even tried it themselves.
DIY activities added to the overall experience. Skills were
not only showcased, but also engaged people in a see, understand, and
learn approach. From children to young people and the elderly, everyone
visited various stalls to practice their arts and skills.
The UPSDM pavilion also features art and products from
various districts of the state. Visitors showed particular interest in seeing
and learning about wooden toys from Banaras, black pottery from Azamgarh, and
decorative items from Mathura.
At the Pratapgarh stall, people learned about and tasted
various products made from amla. Meanwhile, Lucknow's Chikankari attracted
attention for its intricate craftsmanship. Visitors were seen viewing the
products and learning about their manufacturing, traditions, and the skills
involved.
The UPSDM Pavilion thus showcases a confluence of art,
skill, learning, and experience. The pavilion's activities convey the message
that talent isn't just something to be seen, but can also be learned,
understood, and practiced with one's own hands.
