Narendra Modi acclaimed the amla

(Indian gooseberry) sector of

Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, in

the 138th episode of his monthly radio show 'Mann ki Baat'. The Prime Minister emphasized that the conventional

farming and processing of amla has evolved into a strong tool

for self-sufficiency, greatly increasing earnings

for local farmers and women. He emphasized that the amla products (like pickles and murabba) are bolstering the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-reliant India) and 'Vocal for Local'

initiatives by turning a conventional fruit into an internationally recognized brand. The acknowledgment

largely attributes its success to the One District One Product

(ODOP) initiative, which designated amla as the key

product for the Pratapgarh district to expand its

presence in both national and international markets.

After the broadcast,

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked

PM Modi through a public statement on X

(previously Twitter).

State Pride: CM Yogi referred to it as a moment of pride for the whole state of Uttar Pradesh.

Expansion of Local Units: He mentioned that because of the motivation from the ODOP initiative,

Pratapgarh currently has about 100 amla processing units.

Women Self-Help Groups: The Chief Minister praised the initiatives of local women-run groups, highlighting the Savitri Phule and Vindhyavasini Self-Help Groups, which have transformed the district's generational

identity into a strong foundation

for women's empowerment and financial independence.

today the Amla of Pratapgarh and the mother power carving a new path of

prosperity from it, has filled the entire Uttar Pradesh with pride. As a result

of the new strength gained from 'One District-One Product', today nearly 100

units associated with Amla processing, along with the Savitri Phule and

Vindhyavasini Self-Help Groups, are transforming Pratapgarh's age-old identity

into a strong foundation for farmers' income, local enterprise, and the self-reliance

of mother power. This initiative, which turns local potential into opportunity

and gives new recognition to the hard work of mother power, is accelerating the

journey from 'Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh' to 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh'. Heartfelt
