Tirumala, 27 September (H.S.): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has clarified that unsuccessful attempts to book Rs 300 Special Entry Darshan tickets do not necessarily indicate a technical failure of its online booking system, citing exceptionally high demand for the limited quota.

In a press release, the TTD said around six lakh people attempt to book tickets simultaneously when the online quota is released. Since each person can book tickets for up to four family members, the potential demand could reach 24 lakh tickets, while the available quota is around 2.69 lakh tickets.

The TTD said the demand is therefore nearly nine times higher than the available quota, making it impossible for every booking attempt to succeed.

It said the online booking system is supported by technological infrastructure including Google Cloud Platform, load balancing, auto-scaling and distributed architecture. A dedicated technical war room is also activated during ticket releases to monitor system performance, traffic levels and other technical parameters.

The temple administration said virtual queue mechanisms are used at the backend to manage heavy traffic and prevent excessive loads on the system. It clarified that a Slot Unavailable message does not necessarily indicate a technical problem.

The TTD also said its online booking system is integrated with multiple payment gateways, banking networks and UPI platforms.

Continuous improvements are being made in areas including online booking, database performance, high-load handling, security, anti-bot mechanisms and payment processing, based on feedback from devotees, it said.

The TTD urged devotees to rely on official sources for information and not believe misleading claims regarding the online booking process.
