New Delhi, 27 September (H.S.):

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, will launch the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying’s Livestock Insurance Portal in New Delhi on Monday, September 28. The portal is being introduced as a significant step towards the digital transformation of livestock insurance services in the country.

According to a statement issued by the department, the portal will provide a single, integrated digital platform to simplify all insurance-related processes for livestock covered under the department’s Livestock Insurance Scheme, including policy issuance, claim processing, monitoring and reporting. To make the platform more accessible and user-friendly, it will be available in Hindi and English, as well as 11 regional languages, enabling livestock owners to access information and services in languages they are familiar with.

The initiative aims to make livestock insurance services more transparent, efficient, accessible and technology-driven. It is also intended to strengthen risk protection for livestock owners and support the stability of their livelihoods.

The portal will facilitate better coordination of livestock insurance programmes, real-time monitoring and data-driven management, thereby helping improve service delivery across the country. Its launch marks an important step towards simplifying livestock insurance procedures, strengthening institutional efficiency and bringing inclusive, technology-enabled services closer to livestock owners.
