Nagaon (Assam), 27 September (HS): Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika has expressed confidence that the BJP will win the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, while claiming that the Congress would finish either second or third.

Addressing election-related activities in the constituency, Hazarika alleged that the Congress seeks votes by repeatedly making what he described as false claims. “Congress asks for votes by telling lies again and again. We do not seek votes that way,” he said.

Hazarika further asserted that the BJP would emerge victorious in the by-election and that the Congress would be pushed to either the second or third position.

Meanwhile, several minority women who participated in a BJP meeting in large numbers spoke about their experiences under the present government. Some of them claimed that women earlier felt afraid to step out of their homes, while the BJP government had created an environment in which they could move around more confidently.

One of the participants also said that if “Miya Muslims” vote for the BJP this time, the community would be secure in the future.-----------
