Lucknow, 27 Sept (HS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati

expressed concern over the floods ravaging many parts of the country and urged

the central and state governments to provide assistance to the affected people

at every level. Furthermore, with the intention of strengthening the BSP, she

made a significant announcement: dividing the party into three sectors. She

also urged party workers to assist the affected people at every level.

BSP chief Mayawati posted her response on X on Sunday, addressing six

issues, including the damage caused by heavy rains in various parts of the

country and organizational changes. She wrote, For the past few days, the

public has been facing a very difficult time due to heavy rains, storms, and

hurricanes in various parts of the country. The party demands that all

concerned state governments should provide full assistance to the affected

people at every level in the face of such natural calamities.

Additionally, the state government should not merely treat the people,

especially farmers, who are suffering from drought in many areas of Maharashtra

as mere formalities, but should instead strive to provide immediate relief to

the affected people by providing them with genuine assistance at the grassroots

level. The BSP chief further stated that to prepare the BSP and expand its

support base across society, the party organization has been divided into three

sectors. Sector number one covers 10 states, overseen by the two central sector

in-charges, Rajya Sabha MPs Ramji Gautam and Suresh Rao. Sector number two

covers nine states, overseen by former Rajya Sabha MP Rajaram and former MLA

Attar Singh Rao. Sector number three covers Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand,

overseen directly by the party's central camp office at 9 Mall Avenue, Lucknow.

The BSP chief said that in such a situation, especially in the wake of

natural disasters, an appeal is made to these four central sector in-charges of

Sector Number One and Sector Number Two to help those affected by heavy rains

and storms in all the states under their respective sectors, as per their

capacity. However, they should not collect any separate funds for this, so that

no one can take undue advantage under this pretext.

She said that if needed, she could send National Incharge Ishan Anand to the

most affected states. She herself is keeping an eye on all the states. The BSP

chief also requested the central government to provide full and timely

assistance to the governments of the most affected states, which would be

appropriate.
