Imphal, 27 September (H.S.): Manipur Police arrested a woman and seized around 3.2 kg of contraband WY tablets in Kakching district, while Bishnupur Police detained vehicles allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of fertilisers in separate operations, officials said.

Kakching District Police on September 26 arrested Singa Sabanam (36), wife of Md Nur Ahamad and a resident of Lilong Haoreibi Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district, from the Sora Bazar area. Police recovered approximately 3.2 kg of contraband WY tablets from her possession.

In another operation, Bishnupur Police detained vehicles allegedly transporting fertilisers illegally. Police seized 1,200 bags of urea, followed by another 100 bags.

An enquiry has been initiated into the fertiliser seizure. The District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Bishnupur, has also been requisitioned to verify the consignment and take further necessary action.------------
