Bengaluru, 27 Sept(H.S.): The Karnataka BJP will launch a “Booth Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra” on October 1 as it begins preparations for the 2028 Assembly election, party state general secretary Preetham Gowda said.

The campaign will coincide with events marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public office as Gujarat chief minister and prime minister. Gowda told a press conference that the party had also begun a month-long “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan” to highlight Modi’s public service initiatives.

Led by state BJP president B Y Vijayendra, the Karnataka tour will cover 16 Assembly constituencies by October 10. The party plans to visit all 224 constituencies over the next three months, Gowda said.

The programme will focus on strengthening the BJP’s booth organisation and identifying local issues ahead of elections. Party leaders will hold meetings in each constituency and seek feedback from booth-level agents, booth presidents, workers and other election representatives.

The yatra will visit two Assembly constituencies a day. It will include foot marches and consultations with election teams, which Gowda said would give party workers fresh energy and help them prepare for electoral challenges.

Gowda said the campaign would also take the BJP’s criticism of the state government to voters and help the party sharpen its role as the opposition. He described the “Bellary Chalo” march as an exceptional success and claimed it had prompted the government to convene a special session.

The BJP’s aim, he said, is to bring an NDA government back to power in Karnataka and help party workers gain control of local bodies. Discussions during the tour will feed into the party’s strategy for both local and Assembly elections, with constituency leaders expected to flag concerns raised by voters and booth workers.
