New Delhi, 26 September (H.S.): Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa organised ‘Udyam Samvad 2026’ at the Delhi Secretariat on Saturday. The programme was attended by representatives of MSMEs, startups, entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), industry associations and senior officials, who discussed government support, development, innovation and opportunities for business expansion. Senior officials from the Industries Department, the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, along with entrepreneurs, representatives of self-help groups and industry associations, were present on the occasion.

Industries Minister Sirsa released the ‘Compendium of Schemes for MSMEs and Startups’, bringing together information on more than 50 schemes of the Central and Delhi governments at a single place. The compendium is intended to help entrepreneurs access various schemes relating to financial assistance, capacity building, technology, market access and business development.

He said the government’s objective was to create an ecosystem where entrepreneurs would only have to decide what they wanted to pursue, while the government would support them at every stage. From obtaining licences and registrations to identifying markets, buyers and online platforms, the government wants to guide entrepreneurs throughout their entire business journey, he said.

The government is working to strengthen this ecosystem through a new industrial policy, a new startup policy, a new export promotion policy and the Delhi Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026. An Export Promotion Cell is also being established to help businesses gain access to international markets.

Minister Sirsa said that under the Credit Guarantee Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises scheme, the Delhi Government had provided guarantees to support micro and small enterprises in their growth. Under the RAMP scheme, MSMEs and young entrepreneurs are being provided assistance with training, handholding and onboarding on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) and other online platforms.

Minister Sirsa said the Delhi Government was working towards developing a dedicated support mechanism for women entrepreneurs, particularly women running businesses from home.

“We have seen the immense potential of women running businesses from home. We want to help them grow as entrepreneurs and service providers. A dedicated support team will assist them with registration and other requirements so that they can confidently become part of the formal business ecosystem,” he said.

Sirsa said tenders had been issued for road improvement works in unauthorised industrial areas to strengthen basic infrastructure. He also highlighted plans to develop exhibition centres and business facilitation spaces in industrial areas. These facilities will help entrepreneurs showcase their products, connect with customers and explore new business opportunities.

“We want to support entrepreneurs throughout their entire journey. This includes helping them access new markets and sell their products in countries with which India has free trade agreements. The government should play the role of a facilitator and partner in their growth,” he said.

Sirsa said that the one-day ‘Udyam Samvad 2026’ also featured sessions on various schemes of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) and export-related schemes.

Sessions were also conducted by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on startup schemes and by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) on its various schemes. In addition, several banks conducted interactive sessions during the programme.
