Aichi-Nagoya, 26 September (H.S.): Indian boxer Jadumani Singh’s campaign at the 2026 Asian Games came to an end on Saturday after he lost to the Philippines’ Carlo Paalam by a 3-0 split decision in the men’s 55kg pre-quarterfinals.

Paalam started the bout at a fast pace and with an aggressive approach. He used his speed effectively in the opening round to trouble Jadumani. The Indian boxer landed some good jabs and attempted to apply pressure, but Paalam maintained the advantage through effective counter-attacks. All the judges awarded the opening round 10-9 in favour of the Filipino boxer.

Both boxers adopted a measured approach in the second round, looking for opportunities to gain an advantage. Paalam maintained his lead, increasing the pressure on Jadumani to produce a comeback in the final round.

The opening moments of the third round were fought cautiously, but the contest soon became more aggressive. Both boxers exchanged several punches in a hard-fought battle. However, the advantage Paalam had built during the first two rounds ultimately proved decisive.

Paalam eventually secured the victory by a 3-0 split decision and advanced to the next round. With the defeat, Jadumani Singh’s campaign at the Asian Games came to an end.
