New Delhi, September 26 (HS): A fire broke out at a plastic moulding factory in Phase II of Delhi’s Samaypur Badli industrial area early Saturday. The blaze was brought under control after nearly three hours of firefighting. Three people sustained minor injuries in the incident and were discharged from Ambedkar Hospital after receiving first aid.

According to the Delhi Fire Services, information about the fire was received at 12:35 a.m. on Saturday. Two fire tenders were initially dispatched to the site. As the intensity of the blaze became apparent, additional resources were gradually mobilised, with a total of 15 fire tenders eventually deployed to contain the fire.

The fire broke out at a plastic moulding unit located near Gate No. 5 of Factory No. 44. The factory occupied an area of approximately 250 square yards and comprised a basement, a ground floor and two upper floors. A temporary structure had also been erected on the rooftop.

The fire department said the blaze was brought under control at around 3 a.m., while firefighting operations were completed by 3:15 a.m. Cooling operations continued as a precautionary measure. All fire tenders left the site at around 6:35 a.m.

The injured were identified as Dharmveer, 32, Mohammad Sarukh, 41, and Amit, 34. Local residents had taken the three men to Ambedkar Hospital before the firefighters arrived. All three had sustained minor injuries and were discharged after receiving preliminary treatment.

No other casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. Police and fire department officials are investigating the incident.
