New Delhi, 26 September (H.S.):

A two-day public awareness and public service camp was inaugurated in Shastri Nagar on Saturday under the Delhi Government’s ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. The camp was inaugurated by Chandni Chowk Member of Parliament Praveen Khandelwal.

The main objective of the programme is to familiarise the public with various welfare schemes, financial assistance programmes, pensions, loans, support measures and other government services being implemented by the Delhi Government and different government departments.

At the camp, the Delhi Government’s Department of Art, Culture and Languages provided information on various schemes aimed at the preservation and development of literature and languages. People were also briefed about the activities and programmes of the Urdu Academy, Hindi Academy, Punjabi Academy, Sindhi Academy, Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy and Sahitya Kala Parishad.

The camp will also provide information about the department’s financial assistance schemes, scholarships offered through the Delhi Archives and the ‘Delhi Talent Hunt – Hauslon Ki Udaan’ initiative for young people. The programme offers opportunities to showcase and develop talent in areas including singing, dance, digital art and visual design, sculpture, music composition, instrumental music and theatre.

In addition, various public service and public awareness programmes are being organised at different levels across Delhi under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.

SDM Sadar Bazar Mala Sood, Tehsildar Sadar Bazar Harshleen Kaur, Harish Mathur of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, along with officials from various departments and other prominent local personalities, were present on the occasion.
