New Delhi, September 26 (HS): Three separate special committees have been constituted on the directions of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to ensure that Ramlila, Durga Puja and Chhath Puja are organised in a harmonious and orderly atmosphere across the national capital. The committees will play a key role in reviewing and finalising venues for the respective festivals, as well as monitoring and coordinating essential civic amenities, security, traffic management, sanitation, electricity, medical facilities and other arrangements at the venues.

For Ramlila celebrations to be organised across Delhi, a committee has been constituted to review and finalise venues and preparations. Delhi Government Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh, who handles the portfolios of Social Welfare, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare, Cooperation and Elections, has been appointed chairman of the committee. MLAs Ashok Goyal, Anil Kumar Sharma, Shyam Sharma, Sanjay Goyal and Sandeep Sehrawat have been appointed as members.

The Secretary, Revenue-cum-Divisional Commissioner, will serve as the member-secretary of the committee. Its principal responsibility will be to facilitate the issuance of necessary no-objection certificates (NOCs) through the respective District Magistrate offices under a single-window system.

The committee will also be responsible for ensuring adequate arrangements for drinking water, medical assistance, ambulance services, fire-fighting services, security, mobile toilets, traffic management, sanitation and fogging at Ramlila venues. It will also ensure electricity connections and uninterrupted power supply at the event sites.

The committee will work to promote messages related to environmental protection, Vocal for Local, cleanliness, water conservation, Swadeshi, the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and other issues of public importance through Ramlila events. In addition, the committee may include any other subject or issue within its scope of work as required.

For Durga Puja, a separate committee has been constituted to review and finalise venues and preparations. Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra, who holds the portfolios of Law and Justice, Labour, Employment, Development, Art and Culture and Tourism, will chair the committee. MLAs Shikha Roy and Neeraj Basoya, along with social workers Anjali Bhattacharya, Devdutt Bhardwaj and Arun Mukherjee, have been appointed as members. The Secretary, Revenue-cum-Divisional Commissioner, will serve as the member-secretary.

The Durga Puja committee will be responsible for facilitating the issuance of NOCs through the respective District Magistrate offices under the single-window system and ensuring adequate arrangements for drinking water, medical assistance, ambulance services, mobile toilets, fire-fighting services, security, traffic management, sanitation and fogging at puja venues. Arrangements for electricity connections and uninterrupted power supply at the event sites will also come under the committee's purview.

The committee will promote awareness messages concerning the environment, Vocal for Local, cleanliness, water conservation, Swadeshi, the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and other issues of public importance through Durga Puja events. In particular, it will be responsible for arranging artificial or temporary ponds or tanks for the immersion of idols during Durga Puja and ensuring the removal and cleaning of residual material left behind after immersion. The committee may also include any other subject or issue within its scope of work as required.

For Chhath Puja, another committee has been constituted to review and finalise venues and preparations across Delhi. Minister Kapil Mishra will also chair this committee. MLAs Abhay Kumar Verma, Chandan Kumar Chaudhary, Sandeep Sehrawat and Deepak Chaudhary, along with social worker Santosh Ojha, will serve as members. The Secretary, Revenue-cum-Divisional Commissioner, will serve as the member-secretary.

The Chhath Puja committee will facilitate the issuance of NOCs through the respective District Magistrate offices under the single-window system and ensure adequate arrangements for drinking water, medical assistance, ambulance services, fire-fighting services, mobile toilets, security, traffic management, sanitation and fogging at the venues. Electricity connections and uninterrupted power supply at ghats and event sites will also fall within the committee's responsibilities. In addition, the committee will promote messages related to environmental protection, Vocal for Local, cleanliness, water conservation, Swadeshi, the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign and other issues of public importance. It may also include any other subject or issue within its scope of work as required.

The Chief Minister said that Ramlila, Durga Puja and Chhath Puja are not merely religious celebrations but important festivals of faith that bring together Delhi's social and cultural diversity. Millions of people's faith and emotions are associated with these festivals. The government's endeavour is to ensure that devotees can celebrate their festivals with complete faith, devotion and warmth, without facing any inconvenience at the venues.
