Bhubaneswar, 25 September (H.S.) : 2015-batch IPS officer Saravana Vivek M on Friday assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar, succeeding Jagmohan Meena.

Saravana Vivek M, who previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Berhampur, formally took charge as the police chief of Odisha’s capital city on Friday.

As Bhubaneswar DCP, he will be responsible for overseeing law and order, strengthening policing and ensuring the safety and security of residents across the city.

Saravana Vivek M succeeds Jagmohan Meena, whose resignation from government service was accepted by the Centre on September 11.

During his tenure as Berhampur SP, Saravana Vivek M earned recognition for his efficient handling of policing challenges and his proactive approach to maintaining law and order. His new assignment in Bhubaneswar comes with the responsibility of managing policing in the state capital and addressing emerging security and public-order challenges.
