Morigaon (Assam), 25 September (HS): The D Company of the 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, organised a tree plantation and cleanliness drive at Posatia Hari Mandir in Morigaon on Friday.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Ibouchouba Singh, Second-in-Command and Acting Commandant of the 1st Battalion SSB, Sonapur. Vidya Prakash, Coy Commander/In-charge, led the initiative.

A total of 30 people, including 20 SSB personnel and 10 local villagers, participated in the programme. As part of the drive, the participants undertook a cleanliness campaign at the venue and planted 165 saplings.

The participating villagers were encouraged to take an active role in environmental conservation by planting more trees and ensuring their proper care and maintenance.

The initiative highlighted the SSB's commitment to environmental protection, cleanliness and community participation in its area of responsibility.------------
