Mumbai, 25 Sept (HS): Union minister Ramdas

Athawale on Friday called for

a comprehensive inquiry into the suicide of IIT Bombay student Sahil Wakode that

occurred last week. Every

student who secures a place at the IIT is exceptionally intelligent and highly competent, he said. The minister stated after his

visit to IIT Bombay that there should be a comprehensive inquiry into Sahil’s

death, and that measures must be taken against those

accountable.

The manner of his suicide indicates there might be significant reasons for it. Athawale stated

that someone might have offended him, prompting him to make that drastic

decision.
