Sena chief Raj Thackeray on

Friday urged for the cancellation of the

Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, claiming that the BJP has been exploiting it as a tool

since 2025. In a

message on X, Thackeray

stated that the SIR

process needs to be

restarted. “It has

been made clear

how the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)

utilized figures such

as Gyanesh Kumar

to maintain an unending

hold on authority.

For this purpose, they have implemented a new tool since 2025: the SIR (Special Intensive

Revision).

“Noticing the inconsistencies in the SIR and acknowledging that even Election Commissioners are voicing

concerns about them, one conclusion is clear: the entire SIR process needs to be abandoned,” he stated. The MNS leader stated that all opposition parties in

the nation must come together for this purpose. They need to initiate a significant

movement to guarantee that upcoming

elections are held with paper ballots instead of electronic voting machines.

He called for an investigation into purported irregularities in the SIR process. It is

only at that point that the reality

behind this “prolonged control over power” will be uncovered, he stated.
