Mumbai, 25 September (H.S.): The film industry is mourning the demise of actor Mushtaq Khan. The 75-year-old actor had been battling cancer for a prolonged period and was undergoing treatment at Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Following news of his death, actor Rajpal Yadav took to social media to remember his final meeting with Mushtaq and paid an emotional tribute to his co-actor. Rajpal said he had visited Mushtaq at the hospital just a few hours before his demise.

On September 24, Rajpal shared a photograph of Mushtaq and wrote that he had gone to the hospital to meet him in the afternoon. Mushtaq recognised him, shook his hand and responded to what he was saying. Rajpal wrote that he still could not believe that the person he had met and shaken hands with just a few hours earlier was no longer among them. Describing Mushtaq as a popular and accomplished actor, Rajpal offered his heartfelt tribute to him. Rajpal had earlier shared a video of their meeting, which he later deleted. However, a user subsequently reposted the video on social media.

In the video, Mushtaq can be seen lying on a hospital bed, while Rajpal is seen holding his hand. Rajpal can also be heard assuring him that he would recover soon. Actor Sunny Deol also shared a photograph of Mushtaq, paying tribute to him and expressing condolences to his family. Mushtaq was reportedly battling lung cancer, and his condition deteriorated during treatment.

Over the course of his long film career, Mushtaq delivered memorable performances in films such as ‘Welcome’, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Stree 2’, ‘Aashiqui’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ and ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’.
