Udalguri (Assam), 25 September (HS): A postmaster was allegedly robbed at gunpoint following aerial firing by two armed men in the Khairabari area of Assam’s Udalguri district, police said on Friday.

According to police, the incident took place on Thursday night when two armed robbers arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire in the air before targeting postmaster Keshav Jha. The assailants allegedly robbed him and fled from the spot under the cover of darkness.

Jha sustained injuries during the incident and was subsequently admitted to a hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and launched a search operation to trace the two motorcycle-borne suspects involved in the robbery. Further investigation is underway.------------
