New Delhi, 25 September (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted, in a Subhashitam, the importance of success, sustained efforts towards innovation, perseverance and dedicated action. He also paid tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a founding member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, on his birth anniversary.

Sharing a Sanskrit verse on X, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “‘Yatha yatha prayatnah syad bhaved ashu phalam tatha. Iti paurusham evasti daivam astu tadeva cha॥’ Its essence is that the greater a person’s effort and dedication, the sooner success is achieved. Innovation, too, is based on continuous effort. Therefore, it is not fate, but dedicated action, courage and the determination to turn new ideas into reality that pave the way for success and innovation.”

He said that Pandit Upadhyaya, a dedicated servant of the nation, was being respectfully remembered on his birth anniversary. He regarded the resolve to uplift the person standing at the last rung of society as the foundation of nation-building and propounded the principle of Antyodaya, which continues to provide remarkable inspiration for public welfare.

“On this special occasion, let us resolve to uphold his thoughts and ideals and dedicate ourselves to social and national service,” the Prime Minister said.

It is noteworthy that his birth anniversary, September 25, is observed across the country as Antyodaya Diwas.
