New Delhi, 25 September (H.S.): The Indian Railways has approved the operation of a new tri-weekly Amrit Bharat Express between Bhuj in Gujarat and Barauni in Bihar. Covering a distance of 2,532 kilometres, the train will connect several major cities across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

According to the Ministry of Railways, Train No. 19427 Bhuj–Barauni Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Bhuj at 5:30 p.m. and reach Barauni at 4:05 a.m. the following day. On its return journey, Train No. 19428 Barauni–Bhuj Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Barauni at 11:55 p.m. and reach Bhuj at 1:15 p.m. the next day. The Bhuj–Barauni service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, while the Barauni–Bhuj service will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The new train will have commercial halts at several major stations along its route, including Samakhiali, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bharatpur, Mathura, Hathras, Bareilly, Izzatnagar, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur, among others.

The Railways said the new service will provide an additional rail connectivity option between the western and eastern parts of the country and facilitate travel for passengers between Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
