Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy on Friday launched its new electric scooter, the Ather Konarc, here at a starting price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom, New Delhi, including subsidy). Deliveries of select variants of the Konarc will commence in phases.
The company has introduced the Konarc in six variants under its S and Z product lines. The scooter is available with an IDC range of up to 200 kilometres. Ather has also extended the service interval to 10,000 kilometres or approximately one year, whichever comes earlier.
All Konarc variants are equipped with Ather’s fifth-generation Bedrock battery. The company has announced a battery warranty of 10 years or 1 lakh kilometres, whichever comes first. It has also guaranteed a minimum battery health of 70 per cent until the end of the warranty period.
According to the company, the Konarc features a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 12-inch rear alloy wheel. It has a wheelbase of 1,352 millimetres and long-travel suspension at both the front and rear. The Konarc is Ather’s first scooter to feature a metal rear panel and a steel unibody chassis.
The Konarc comes equipped with an Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS). The system automatically adjusts braking force between the front and rear wheels according to road conditions. The scooter also features regenerative braking.
Other features include keyless access with MagicKey, SmartEco, automatic locking and remote scooter location. The AutoPop feature allows the under-seat storage compartment to be opened without using hands, while AirWalk helps users manually move the scooter in tight spaces.
For charging, the Konarc comes with an integrated onboard charger and charging cable. According to the company, the optional 450-watt offboard charger can be used alongside the scooter’s built-in 450-watt charger to provide a combined charging capacity of 900 watts, reducing charging time at home.
Ather Energy Chief Business Officer Ravneet Singh Phokela said Delhi-NCR is an important market for the company from an electric-mobility perspective. He said the Konarc offers features such as a 10,000-kilometre service interval, a 10-year or 1-lakh-kilometre battery warranty, a range of up to 200 kilometres and fast home charging.
The share of electric vehicles in Delhi-NCR stood at 6.27 per cent in the first quarter of financial year 2026 and increased to 9.23 per cent in the first quarter of financial year 2027. The company has established 11 Experience Centres and seven service centres in Delhi. It also has 273 LECCS fast-charging points across Delhi-NCR.
Ather currently sells the 450 series and Rizta electric scooters. With the launch of the Konarc, the company has expanded its electric two-wheeler portfolio in Delhi-NCR.
Phokela said the Konarc had been developed with everyday requirements in mind. He highlighted its 10,000-kilometre service interval, 10-year or 1-lakh-kilometre battery warranty, IDC range of up to 200 kilometres, metal body, 14-inch front wheel and long-travel suspension as some of its key features. He said the company had focused on incorporating technology and features that make everyday use of an electric scooter more convenient.
Ather Energy Head of Marketing Saurabh Sharma outlined the Konarc’s features and said the company had introduced several technologies in new ways. He highlighted features such as MagicKey, AutoPop, AirWalk and the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS). According to him, these features are intended not merely to add technology but to simplify everyday requirements related to parking, braking, storage and riding.
Sharma said MagicKey provides access to the scooter and its storage without the need for a conventional key. AutoPop automatically opens the under-seat storage compartment, while AirWalk helps users move the scooter in confined spaces. AEBS adjusts the braking force between the front and rear wheels according to road conditions. The company has included these features among the Konarc’s key technological enhancements.
