Hooghly, 24 September (H.S.): Trinamool Congress leader Imran Khan, nephew of former Trinamool Congress vice-chairman of Rishra Municipality Zahid Hasan Khan, was arrested by Serampore Police from Bihar. Police brought him to Serampore Police Station on Thursday.

According to the police, a case had been registered against Imran Khan in connection with allegations of extortion, issuing threats and assault. Following his arrest, police personnel were seen taking the detained leader inside the police station.

According to police sources, Imran Khan was produced before the Serampore court on Thursday. Further legal action in the case is underway.
