Mumbai, 24 September (H.S.):

Shares of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), one of India’s leading stock exchanges, made their debut on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday at a gain of nearly one per cent. On the first day of trading, NSE shares were listed on the BSE at Rs 1,800, against the issue price of Rs 1,785.

The NSE stock opened at Rs 1,800 on the BSE, representing a premium of 0.84 per cent over its issue price. During the trading session, the stock gained as much as 3.36 per cent to touch Rs 1,845. The exchange’s market capitalisation stood at Rs 4,55,400 crore. The company had fixed the price band for its initial public offering (IPO) at Rs 1,700-1,785 per share.

According to the Bombay Stock Exchange, a total of 116.53 lakh NSE shares were traded during the session.

The Rs 22,569-crore IPO of the National Stock Exchange, the country’s second-largest IPO, received nearly six times subscription on the final day of bidding on Monday. Strong demand from institutional investors provided significant support to the issue.

With its Rs 22,569-crore offering, the NSE IPO has surpassed the Rs 21,000-crore IPO of state-owned insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), launched in 2022.
