Hooghly, 24 September (H.S.): A ‘Janakalyan Camp’ was organised at the Pursura Block Office on Thursday to receive applications related to public grievances and various government services. Pursura MLA Biman Ghosh remained present at the camp from 10 am to 4 pm and interacted directly with residents.

A large number of people from different areas under the eight gram panchayats of Pursura block attended the camp with their grievances and applications for various government schemes. Applications were received for benefits under several government schemes, while the MLA heard people's concerns and assured them of necessary follow-up action.

Applications related to schemes including Annapurna, old-age pension, widow pension, PM-Kisan, Krishak Bandhu, Ayushman Bharat and job cards were received at the camp. The initiative provided residents, particularly those from remote areas, an opportunity to submit their applications and raise their grievances at a single location instead of visiting different government offices.

MLA Biman Ghosh said the primary objective of such public welfare camps is to hear people's problems directly and explore ways to address them. He expressed his commitment to continuing efforts to stand by residents and work towards resolving their grievances.

The camp witnessed a positive response from local residents. People also called for more such camps in the future to make government services more accessible to residents.
