New Delhi, 24 September (H.S.): A bilateral meeting on strengthening the strategic partnership between India and the Netherlands in the water sector will be held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the Bharat Mandapam complex in New Delhi.

According to the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the meeting will discuss a range of issues, including the strategic water partnership between India and the Netherlands and the establishment of a Centre of Excellence.

On the occasion, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed among the Central Water Commission (CWC), the Kalpasar Department of the Government of Gujarat and Deltares, a Netherlands-based research institute specialising in water and subsurface issues, for technical cooperation on projects.

In addition, another tripartite MoU will be signed between the CWC, the Kalpasar Department of the Government of Gujarat and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands for capacity building and training.

The programme is being organised as part of India International Water Week 2026, a five-day event that commenced at Bharat Mandapam on September 22. The programme will focus on further strengthening the India-Netherlands partnership in water management, technical cooperation and capacity building.
