Kolkata , 24 September (H.S.) : Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani arrived in West Bengal on a high-profile official visit, commencing his itinerary on Thursday by offering prayers alongside his wife at the historic Kalighat Temple. The primary focus of the visit centers on driving large-scale industrial investments into the state, marked by a crucial bilateral meeting scheduled later in the day with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.

Following the temple visit, Adani is scheduled to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the proposed 2,000-bed Adani Arogya Mandir hospital in New Town, where Chief Minister Adhikari will participate as the chief guest. Subsequently, a high-level review meeting between the Chief Minister and representatives of the Adani Group will take place at the Soujanya state guest house in Alipore to discuss broad investment proposals. Administrative sources indicate that a key Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is likely to be signed during the meeting regarding the comprehensive restoration and renovation of Writers' Buildings, the state's heritage secretariat. Immediately following these engagements, Chief Minister Adhikari will depart for New Delhi to attend a coordination meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Following the change of administration in West Bengal, the state government has maintained a concerted push toward industrial development and employment generation, attracting leading industrialists to explore regional opportunities. In alignment with this push, the Adani Group is structuring investments across multiple key sectors in addition to healthcare. Beyond commercial ventures, the conglomerate is also participating in the state's cultural celebrations ahead of the forthcoming Durga Puja festival. The group will select eight leading community Durga Puja committees and award each a sponsorship grant of ₹25 lakh. Furthermore, a curated preview tour scheduled from October 10, to October 12,, will host distinguished national and international guests to showcase the art, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage of Bengal's largest festival to a global audience.
