Hooghly, 24 September (H.S.): A coordination meeting was held at Rabindra Bhavan in Chinsurah on Thursday to discuss arrangements, security measures and administrative coordination for the upcoming Durga Puja 2026 celebrations.

The meeting was organised by Chinsurah Police Station under the Chandannagar Police Commissionerate. Chinsurah MLA Subir Nag, police and administrative officials, and representatives of various puja committees attended the meeting.

Several issues were discussed, including maintaining law and order during the festival, ensuring the safety of visitors, regulating vehicular movement and strengthening coordination between the administration and puja organisers.

Emphasis was also laid on ensuring that people can enjoy the festivities safely and without inconvenience. The meeting stressed that close coordination among the police, administration and puja committees would be essential for conducting the celebrations in a peaceful and orderly manner.

MLA Subir Nag said that the objective was to make this year's Durga Puja more peaceful, safe and well-organised through the collective cooperation of all concerned.
