New Delhi, 24 September (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Thursday extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Indian medal winners at the Asian Games.

President Murmu wrote on X, “Heartiest congratulations to Roshibina Devi Naorem for winning the silver medal in the women’s 60 kg Sanda event in Wushu at the Asian Games 2026, Satnam Singh and Salman Khan for winning the bronze medal in the men’s Double Sculls event, and the Indian men’s badminton team for securing the bronze medal. Winning three medals in three consecutive Asian Games is a remarkable achievement and a historic milestone for Indian Wushu.

May your inspiring journey continue to bring many more proud moments. Satnam Singh and Salman Khan’s performance reflects the strength of teamwork, endurance and commitment that rowing demands. The Vice President said Satnam and Salman’s place on the podium reflected their outstanding teamwork and endurance, while Roshibina’s third consecutive Asian Games medal was a historic achievement for Indian Wushu. He expressed the hope that they would continue to bring many more proud moments to the country.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said Roshibina Devi’s achievement was a moment of immense pride for India and a testament to her dedication, determination and consistency on the Asian stage. He said Satnam and Salman, who won the bronze medal in the men’s Double Sculls rowing event, secured their place on the podium with an impressive display of coordination, strength, rhythm and determination, adding another medal to India’s tally. “Congratulations to Satnam and Salman on this शानदार achievement! May they continue to inspire others and bring greater glory to India,” he said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Naorem Roshibina Devi had become the first Indian Wushu athlete to win medals at three consecutive Asian Games, describing the feat as a remarkable example of her consistent performance and determination. He said her performance would inspire a new generation of Indian athletes to strive for excellence.
