Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated Jay Meena on winning the bronze medal in the men’s individual soft tennis event at the Asian Games, describing the achievement as a historic milestone for Indian soft tennis.

Meena’s podium finish makes him the first Indian to win an Asian Games medal in soft tennis. His bronze has opened a new chapter for the sport in the country, which has traditionally received less attention than several other racket disciplines.

In a message shared by the PM Modi on X, PM Modi praised Meena’s achievement and said it marked a memorable moment for Indian soft tennis. He expressed hope that the medal would encourage more young people to take up the sport and pursue excellence at the competitive level.
