Morigaon (Assam), 23 September (H.S.): A youth was killed on the spot in a road accident on National Highway 27 under Jagiroad police station in Assam’s Morigaon district late Tuesday night.

Police said a speeding motorcycle bearing registration number AS-21N-0277 rammed into the rear of a truck (ML-11A-1351) near the Tata Semiconductor project along NH-27. The impact left the motorcycle rider dead on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Raj De, a resident of Baganbasti under Jagiroad police station.

Following the accident, a police team reached the spot and recovered the body. It was subsequently sent to Morigaon Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have registered a case in connection with the accident and launched an investigation. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area.------------
