Dubai, 23 September (H.S.):

England captain Harry Brook has risen to a career-best fourth position in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings following an impressive home series against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed has claimed the top spot in the bowling rankings, with Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan slipping to second.

Brook scored 170 runs in the three-match series against Sri Lanka and was named Player of the Series. He produced an unbeaten 114 in the opening match in Southampton, a performance that propelled him five places up the T20I batting rankings. India’s Ishan Kishan continues to occupy the top position in the list.

Brook is also ranked No. 1 in Test batting. He has climbed three places to 12th in the ODI batting rankings as well and is now in contention to feature among the top 10 batters across all three formats.

In the bowling rankings, Abrar Ahmed has reached the No. 1 position for the first time. Rashid Khan has dropped to second, trailing the Pakistan spinner by one rating point, bringing his six-month reign at the top to an end.

Abrar is the fifth Pakistani bowler to reach the summit of the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings. He joins Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Imad Wasim and Shahid Afridi, who have previously achieved the feat.

England’s Jos Buttler scored 172 runs in the series against Sri Lanka and is now just one place behind Brook in the T20I batting rankings.

India captain Shreyas Iyer has climbed seven places to joint 22nd, while England’s Tom Banton has made a significant 30-place jump to 60th.

Among the bowlers, England’s Jamie Overton has been the biggest beneficiary. After taking five wickets in the series against Sri Lanka, Overton has surged 47 places to a career-best sixth position.

Liam Dawson has risen 12 places to 11th, while India’s Axar Patel has climbed 12 places to 15th and Ravi Bishnoi has moved up five places to 35th. Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai has also gained three places to reach 49th.

England all-rounder Will Jacks has moved up to 58th among T20I bowlers and third in the all-rounders’ rankings.

In the ICC Men’s ODI rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has climbed five places to 24th. He scored 45 and an unbeaten 81 in the final two matches of Zimbabwe’s home series against Australia.

Australia’s Josh Inglis has moved up 11 places to 30th, while Zimbabwe’s Craig Ervine has risen seven places to 65th. Will Jacks has also advanced two places to 77th.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Australia fast bowler Nathan Ellis has climbed three places to a career-best 17th after taking nine wickets in the series against Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka fast bowler Asitha Fernando has also made significant progress, moving from 39th to 30th. He took three wickets for 53 runs in the opening ODI of the series against England at Chester-le-Street.
