Amaravati, 23 September (H.S.): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday expressed deep anguish over the death of four students after they were hit by a train near Tekkali in Srikakulam district.

The deceased were identified as Vishakarao, Dilip Kumar, Shiva and Sharath Kumar. Naidu expressed condolences to the bereaved families and described the incident as tragic.

The Chief Minister sought details of the accident from officials. They informed him that the students failed to notice the approaching train while crossing the railway track.

Another student, Salmon Raj, was injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment at Tekkali District Hospital. Naidu directed officials to ensure that he receives proper medical care and asked the authorities to extend all necessary support to the affected families.

According to the information available, the four students were struck by the Rajadhani Express near Burma Colony on the outskirts of Tekkali. They were reportedly crossing the railway track when the speeding train hit them.

The incident resulted in the deaths of four students, while Salmon Raj sustained injuries and was shifted for treatment.
