Bongaigaon (Assam), 23 September (H.S.): A workshop on ‘Creative Hindi Writing’ and a Hindi book exhibition were organised at Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Bongaigaon, on Wednesday under the aegis of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, Bongaigaon, with support from Bongaigaon Refinery.

The programme aimed to develop students’ interest in the Hindi language while encouraging their creative expression, writing skills and literary awareness. Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Bongaigaon Principal Vishal Khare guided the programme and addressed students and teachers. He said language was not merely a means of expressing thoughts but also a powerful medium for shaping emotions, imagination and creativity. He encouraged students to read Hindi literature regularly and express their ideas through writing.

Young poet and theatre personality Md Rahman, the key faculty member of the workshop, introduced students to various forms of creative writing, including stories, poetry, memoirs and dialogue. He explained the basic elements of creative writing in an engaging and interactive manner and stressed the importance of imagination, continuous reading, sensitivity and awareness of events around them. Students also participated in short writing exercises during the workshop.

The Hindi book exhibition was another major attraction of the programme. Books covering Hindi literature, poetry, stories, children’s literature, knowledge and science and other subjects were displayed. Hindi Sthan Prakashan, Jaipur, supported the exhibition. Students showed keen interest in the books and gathered information about various titles.

The organisers also highlighted efforts being undertaken by Bongaigaon Refinery to promote Hindi language and literature among students and strengthen the use of Official Language Hindi in educational institutions.

The programme emphasised that reading, thinking and writing are important components in developing a creative personality. The workshop and book exhibition provided students with an opportunity to connect with Hindi literature and express their imagination through writing.------------
