New Delhi, 23 September (H.S.): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday visited an Anganwadi centre operating from a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) primary co-educational school in Sarai Kale Khan and interacted with children and Anganwadi workers.

In a post on social media platform X, Gupta said the Delhi government was committed to strengthening Anganwadi centres by improving facilities, nutrition and care, while providing greater support and recognition to Anganwadi workers.

“Every child deserves a strong start. Every Anganwadi didi should have the strength to make that possible. This is Delhi’s commitment to service,” she said.

Recalling her interaction with the children, the Chief Minister said some came and sat beside her, some held her hand, while others shared their thoughts with her. She said the warmth and affection shown by the children left a lasting impression.

Gupta also acknowledged the role of Anganwadi workers in nurturing children and supporting their early development. She said they help shape children’s dreams every day with affection and care, often taking on the roles of both teachers and caregivers.

The Chief Minister said the government’s commitment was to ensure that every child in Delhi continues to have a reason to smile and that every Anganwadi worker who contributes to their development receives greater respect and recognition.
