New Delhi, 23 September (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced new in-charges and co-in-charges for various states and Union Territories, a month after appointing its new national office-bearers.

The appointments, approved by BJP president Nitin Nabin, have come into effect immediately. Newly appointed general secretary Smriti Irani has been given charge of Haryana and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, while Vinod Tawde has been appointed Uttar Pradesh in-charge. Satish Poonia will be in-charge of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, while Biplab Kumar Deb has been given charge of Madhya Pradesh.

Vinay Sahasrabuddhe has been appointed Delhi in-charge, with Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Darshana Ben Jardosh as co-in-charges. Tarun Chugh will be the Gujarat in-charge, with Ajay Mahawar and Gomati Sai as co-in-charges.

In Haryana, Smriti Irani will be the in-charge and Bhola Singh the co-in-charge. In Chhattisgarh, Irani has also been appointed in-charge, with Siddharth Shambhu as co-in-charge.

For Uttar Pradesh, Tawde will be the in-charge, while Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Pradeep Verma and Anant Ojha have been appointed co-in-charges.

Baijayant Jay Panda has been appointed Maharashtra in-charge, with Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanawade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat as co-in-charges. Sanjay Bhatia will be Rajasthan in-charge, with Kavita Patidar and Kuljeet Chahal as co-in-charges.

The party has appointed Harish Dwivedi as Karnataka in-charge, Prof. M. Nagaraja as Kerala in-charge, D. Purandeswari as Odisha in-charge, and Sunil Bansal as the in-charge for West Bengal and Telangana. Reena Kashyap has been appointed co-in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir.

In Andhra Pradesh, Arvind Bhadoria has been appointed in-charge and Vanathi Srinivasan co-in-charge. Mangal Pandey will be Assam in-charge, with Phangnon Konyak and Manoj Tigga as co-in-charges. In Bihar, Harish Dwivedi will be in-charge, with Sangeeta Yadav and Rohan Gupta as co-in-charges.

Ram Madhav has been appointed Uttarakhand in-charge, with Arvind Menon and Bansuri Swaraj as co-in-charges. In Telangana, Bansal will be in-charge, with Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma as co-in-charges. Shrikant Sharma has been appointed Himachal Pradesh in-charge, with Darshana Singh as co-in-charge.

For the Union Territories, Jai Prakash has been appointed in-charge of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Devesh Kumar of Arunachal Pradesh, Mahendra Pandey of Chandigarh, and Varshaben Narendra Bhai Doshi of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

Dr Bharti Pravin Pawar has been appointed Goa in-charge, with Anil Antony as co-in-charge. Gajendra Patel has been appointed Jharkhand in-charge, Raj Kumar Bhatia Ladakh in-charge, and George Kurian Lakshadweep in-charge.

The BJP announced the appointments after its national office-bearers were appointed in August, completing the latest organisational changes at the state and Union Territory levels.
