Lucknow, 23 Sept (HS): As Ayushman Bharat reached its eighth

anniversary on Wednesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

emphasized the scheme's widespread success. On September 23, 2026, the Ayushman

Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) celebrated its 8th anniversary.

The scheme provides cashless healthcare coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family

yearly, acting as an essential sanjeevani (lifeline) for millions.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath thanked residents and commended

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aim for constructing a strong national

health-security shield.

In a post on X, he stated, “Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi

ji has provided a strong shield of health-security to crores of families in the

country through the 'Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana'. On the

occasion of the completion of 8 years of this historic scheme today, heartfelt

congratulations and best wishes to all beneficiaries and fellow citizens of the

country. This public welfare scheme, born from the spirit of Antyodaya, has

proven to be a 'Sanjeevani' for crores of poor, deprived, and needy families. Heartfelt
