Guwahati, 23 September (H.S.): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday extended greetings to people on the occasion of Vaman Dwadashi and prayed for peace, happiness and prosperity in everyone’s life.

In a social media post, Sarma said Lord Vishnu’s Vaman avatar teaches people to give up arrogance, embrace humility, follow the path of righteousness and remain steadfast in their faith in truth.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of the Dashavatara in the works and spiritual tradition of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev. He said an idol depicting Lord Vishnu’s Vaman avatar, along with those of his other incarnations, has been installed at the Avirbhab Khetra complex at Batadrava.

Sarma described the collection of the avatar statues at the sacred site as an important part of Assam’s civilisational and cultural heritage.------------
