Aichi-Nagoya, 22 September (H.S.): The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has strengthened on-ground logistical and athlete-support arrangements for the Indian contingent participating in the 2026 Asian Games.

Several measures have been put in place by SAI to address the requirements of athletes, coaches and support staff during the Games.

To facilitate the arrival of athletes and support personnel, a dedicated reception and assistance team has been deployed at the airport. The team comprises representatives of the Indian Olympic Association, SAI and the Embassy of India in Japan.

The team is welcoming arriving athletes, coaches and support staff and assisting them with arrival formalities. It is also providing refreshments and necessary guidance for onward travel to competition venues and accommodation facilities.

SAI has also made several additional arrangements to ensure the convenience of the Indian contingent.

Transport facilities have been arranged for Indian shooters to facilitate their travel to and from competition venues.

In addition, vehicles have been deployed to facilitate the movement of medical teams, enabling them to travel efficiently between different competition venues and provide timely medical assistance to athletes whenever required.

In view of the limited accommodation available through the organising committee, SAI has also arranged additional rooms for coaches and support staff who could not be accommodated through the official arrangements.

SAI is working in coordination with the Indian Olympic Association, the Embassy of India in Japan and the Asian Games Organising Committee to provide logistical, medical and other operational support to the Indian contingent. The objective is to ensure that athletes can remain fully focused on their competitions throughout the Asian Games.
