New Delhi, 21 September (H.S.): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday paid tribute to Veer Tejaji Maharaj, a revered symbol of Rajasthan’s glorious tradition of folk faith and valour, on Teja Dashami, and to Baba Ramdev, the widely revered folk deity, on his birth anniversary.

In a post on X, Birla wrote, “The life of Veer Tejaji Maharaj inspires us with the values of truth, keeping one’s word, courage, sacrifice and service to the people. The unwavering devotion that the people of Rajasthan have held for Tejaji for centuries is a living testament to the state’s rich folk culture and traditions. On the occasion of Teja Dashami today, devotees across the state visit sacred sites dedicated to Tejaji, offer prayers and seek happiness, peace and prosperity. May the blessings of Veer Tejaji Maharaj remain with everyone. May every family be blessed with happiness, peace and prosperity, and may the lives of the people of Rajasthan be filled with well-being and prosperity. This is our heartfelt wish.”

He said that Baba Ramdev’s widespread popularity extends beyond religious faith, as his life serves as a source of inspiration for everyone, imparting the values of social harmony, equality, brotherhood, service and the welfare of humanity.

Baba Ramdev holds a special place in the folk traditions of Rajasthan, Gujarat and several other parts of the country, Birla said, adding that devotees from across India visit Ramdevra to express their faith and devotion to him.

“May Baba’s blessings remain upon all, and may the spirit of love, harmony, peace and mutual respect in society grow ever stronger,” he said.
