Aichi-Nagoya, 21 September (H.S.): Indian Olympic Association President PT Usha met Namibia National Olympic Committee Chief Executive Officer Anri Parker on Monday. The two discussed ways to further strengthen sporting ties between India and Namibia during the 2026 Asian Games.

Meanwhile, in soft tennis, the Indian mixed doubles pair of Adhya Tiwari and Jai Meena advanced to the Round of 16 at the Asian Games.

The Indian pair began their Group B campaign with a 5-0 victory over Cambodia’s Viva Chao and Chanroseka Khun. They won the match with set scores of 4-1, 4-0, 4-2, 4-1 and 4-2.

Adhya and Jai then defeated Mongolia’s Bud Nyamdorj and Enkhkhuslen Ganbaatar 5-0. The Indian pair secured victory with set scores of 4-2, 4-1, 4-1, 4-0 and 5-3.

In their final Group B match, however, the Indian pair suffered a 1-5 defeat against South Korea. Despite the loss, India finished second in the group on the strength of its two victories and advanced to the Round of 16.
