Lucknow, 20 Sept (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

launched a scathing attack on the opposition, saying that those who could not

do anything will always speak. Uttar Pradesh and the country have witnessed the

incompetence and idleness of those who made Uttar Pradesh sick through their

inaction and incompetence. Such opposition members should have no right to

speak on the UP Police or the state's system today.

Chief Minister Yogi said

that the opposition should keep counting, while the government will continue to

make appointments. On Saturday, appointment letters were given to 818 youth, on

Sunday 912 will be given, and now appointment letters will be distributed again

on September 22. In the next six months, a major recruitment event will be held

every week in the state, with one lakh youth being given government jobs.

Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the appointment letter

distribution ceremony for the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion

Board's Clerical Cadre Direct Recruitment-2023 at Lok Bhavan on Sunday. He

presented appointment letters to 912 candidates selected for the posts of

Police Sub-Inspector Confidential, Police Assistant Sub-Inspector Clerk, and

Police Assistant Sub-Inspector Accounts. Chief Minister Yogi congratulated all

the newly selected candidates on becoming part of the UP Police.

Transparent selection is a symbol of faith in governance: At

the event, Chief Minister Yogi said that when a deserving candidate is selected

through a fair and transparent examination, it not only brings an achievement

to their family but also symbolizes the common man's faith in the government.

Before 2017, the discrepancies in the recruitment process had caused

disappointment and frustration among young people. Nepotism had so deeply

ingrained the entire system that transparency and integrity were unimaginable.

He said that as soon as recruitment advertisements appeared,

young people were under the impression that they would not be selected without

recommendations and financial transactions. Questions were raised about the

integrity of the examination and selection process, and cases of paper leaks

surfaced. Chief Minister Yogi alleged that recruitments within the UP Police

were conducted in which someone took the exam and someone else received the

appointment letter. Appointment letters were distributed to candidates who

hadn't even applied, while qualified candidates were shown the door.

No recommendation is required from appointment to

deployment: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that after forming the

government in 2017, reforms were made to ensure complete transparency in the

recruitment process. Changes were made to the Police Recruitment and Promotion

Board, the Public Service Commission, the Subordinate Services Selection

Commission, and education-related recruitment processes. Interviews were

eliminated for Group C and D recruitment, ensuring that qualified candidates

did not face discrimination at any level.

He said that from the advertisement to the examination, appointment

letter, training, and district deployment, no candidate will need a

recommendation. There will be no discrimination against anyone. Everyone will

receive opportunities based on their qualifications, abilities, and

performance.

More than nine and a half lakh youth got appointment: Chief

Minister Yogi said that as a result of the changes made to the recruitment

process since 2017, more than 950,000 young people have had the opportunity to

serve in the Uttar Pradesh government. Several recruitment processes are moving

forward.

The changed identity of Uttar Pradesh, which was marked by

riots and curfews: Chief Minister Yogi said that before 2017, people from Uttar

Pradesh had to hide their identities outside the state. There were no

opportunities in UP. Riots broke out every other day, and curfews were imposed

for months. Various areas, including Bareilly, Aligarh, Meerut, and

Muzaffarnagar, were prone to riots.

Training capacity increased from 6,000 to 60,000: Chief

Minister Yogi said that previously, the state lacked the capacity to train even

six thousand police personnel simultaneously. Today, the UP Police has acquired

the capacity to train 60,000 police personnel simultaneously. He added that

previously, in such a large state, there were not even 10,000 female police

personnel. Now, this number has exceeded 44,000. After the completion of the

ongoing recruitment process, the number of female police personnel will reach

50,000 by the end of this year.

912 appointments, inspiration for 912 families too: Chief

Minister Yogi said that the government expects the newly selected police

officers to display the same sensitivity in addressing the problems of the

common man as the government has carried out the recruitment process. These

appointment letters are not only being received by 912 individuals, but will

also serve as an inspiration for the 912 families and the communities

associated with them.

In police service, duties come first, rights later: Suresh

Khanna - Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna congratulated

the newly selected candidates, saying they had achieved this position through

their hard work. Prior to 2017, recruitments in Uttar Pradesh were shrouded in

controversy and suspicion. Police service isn't simply about position; it

involves duties and rights. He emphasized that securing a police job doesn't

necessarily lead to arrogance. During Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's tenure,

more than 950,000 appointments have been made. The work ethic of the newly

selected police officers will be a testament to the Yogi government's progress.

Process of direct recruitment on 35,000 posts continues:

Rajiv Krishna - Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, while congratulating

the 912 selected candidates, especially 173 women, said that all of them have

been selected through a transparent and corruption-free process. Their basic

training will start from October 6. They will be posted after six months of

institutional and three months of practical training. He informed that

currently the process of direct recruitment on about 35 thousand posts and

promotion on 9,457 posts is going on. The training capacity of UP Police has

also increased from six thousand to more than 60 thousand.

Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna,

Additional Chief Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad, Director General of Police Rajiv

Krishna, Additional Director General of Police Law and Order Amitabh Yash along

with senior police officers and newly selected candidates were present in the

program.
