New Delhi, 20 September (H.S.): During the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Delhi, notices have been prepared and sent to 3,163,930 people, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

It may be recalled that a total of 4,756,722 names were removed from the electoral rolls following the SIR, and notices are now being issued to those affected. For this purpose, the Delhi Election Commission is organising special camps.

The Commission clarified the position regarding the notice issued to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who is a voter in AC-14, Shalimar Bagh. The notice was issued after her name was found in the discrepancy/no-mapping list during the SIR process. However, following verification of the facts and documents, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) has validated her entry.

The Electoral Registration Officer’s office in Shalimar Bagh issued a clarification today, stating that this is a routine procedure under the SIR. Voters whose Enumeration Forms could not be linked to the electoral roll prepared during the last intensive revision are being issued notices, in accordance with the Election Commission’s guidelines, for document verification. As part of the process, field verification was conducted by the Booth Level Officer. Following verification of the facts and documents, the ERO validated her entry. Her name will be included in the final electoral roll for AC-14 (Shalimar Bagh), scheduled to be published on November 4, 2026.

Similarly, amid reports that notices had been issued to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his family, the Electoral Registration Officer for Assembly Constituency-40 (New Delhi) issued a press note clarifying the matter.

According to the press note, during the SIR, the entries of Arvind Kejriwal and his family members who are registered as voters in AC-40, New Delhi, were found in the “No Mapping” list. This identification was made on the basis of the details provided in the Enumeration Forms submitted by them.

The press note stated that the Enumeration Forms submitted by Kejriwal and his family members did not contain sufficient information to establish a link with the electoral roll prepared during the last revision.

The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer, addressing a press conference on Saturday, said that special camps for inclusion of names in the electoral roll would be organised on September 20 and 27 at all polling-station locations across the National Capital Territory of Delhi, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
