New Delhi, 02 September (H.S.): The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the Advance City Intimation Slip for candidates appearing in the re-examination of three subjects of the University Grants Commission’s (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET), conducted in June this year. The slip will enable candidates to know the cities where their examination centres have been allotted. The re-examination will be conducted for English, Commerce and Sociology. Candidates can check their examination city by visiting the official UGC-NET portal. They have been advised to download the city intimation slip and regularly check the NTA’s official website for further updates related to the examination. Detailed information regarding the admit cards and examination centres will be released later.

According to the NTA, the re-examinations for English and Commerce will be held on September 9. The English examination will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, while the Commerce examination will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the same day. The Sociology examination will be conducted on the following day, September 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

It may be noted that the NTA conducted the UGC-NET June 2026 examination for 87 subjects between June 22 and 30. However, after errors were detected in the question papers of these three subjects, a decision was taken to conduct a re-examination.

According to the NTA, candidates appearing for the re-examination in these three subjects will not be required to pay any additional examination fee. Following a large number of complaints regarding the question papers of English, Commerce and Sociology, the NTA itself constituted an inquiry committee. Based on the committee’s report, the NTA decided to reconduct the examinations for all three subjects.
