
New Delhi, 02 September (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the deaths in an accident in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. He conveyed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
The Prime Minister’s Office, in a post on social media platform X, quoted Prime Minister Modi as saying, “The news of loss of lives in the accident in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, is deeply saddening. My condolences are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
It may be noted that a Pawan Express bus collided with a bulk carrier truck near Badwar Stand on National Highway-39 in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Following the collision, the bus fell into a ditch alongside the road. Slippery road conditions have also been cited as one of the possible causes of the accident.
Preliminary reports said several people were killed and more than 20 others injured in the accident. Relief and rescue operations are underway, while the injured have been shifted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa for treatment.
