Mumbai, 02 Sept (HS): Transporters have welcomed the decision of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to constitute a S[ecial Task Force (STF) to investigate into the incidents of robberies and dacoities on the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhai Mahamarg.

Transport Congress Advisor Bal Malkit Singh said that the demand for security

measures on the expressway was being raised for a long time. He welcomed the

decision of Maharashtra CM. The transporters had raised the issue of security

during the incidents of looting on 1 and 17 June and 10 August. Realising the

seriousness of the issue Fadnavis constituted STF, which the Transporters

Congress welcomed and expressed hope that all those involved in the loot will

be identified soon and arrested. The organisation also expressed expectation of

arrangements on the expressway for security of the transporters
