chargesheet filed in Bhiwandi court

Mumbai, 19 Sept

(HS): The Maharashtra Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) question paper was brought

out of the printing press in Agra, by concealing it shoe sole. For procuring a

copy of the question paper Rs 8,000 was paid and assurance of giving a piece of

land in Agra was assured.

The Thane’s

Bhiwandi police in the 3,500-page chargesheet has revealed it. The chargesheet

was filed on Friday with the Bhiwandi court. The main accused in the paper

leakage has been named as Bijendra Gupta with 17 others as accused in the case.

Out of the 18 accused, 16 have been arrested, while two – Ashok Sao and Prakash

Misal are absconding.

The question was

leaked from Mahim Patran Pvt Ltd Printing Press, Agra. Four sets of question

papers brough out from the printing press between June 15 and 17. Two employees

of the press, and a former employee were involved in bring copies out of the

press. The question papers were concealed in shoes as the security guard were

not checking their shoes.

The question

papers were then sold in Biwandi in Thane district. On getting the intelligence

information the paper leakage was detected a day prior to the date of

examination. The examination was then cancelled and an investigation was initiated.
