(Cleanliness is Service) Fortnight-2026, and following the directives of North

Central Railway General Manager Naresh Pal Singh, the Mechanical Department of

the NCR Headquarters organized a special 'Shramdaan' event on the roof of the

Mechanical Headquarters building. The initiative aimed to raise awareness

regarding cleanliness and environmental conservation.

The event was led by Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Anil

Kumar Dwivedi. Officers from the Mechanical Department—including Suraj Prakash

(Chief Rolling Stock Engineer/Freight), Rakesh Gautam (Chief Workshop

Engineer), R.K. Jatav (Chief Motive Power Engineer/Diesel), Manish Kumar (Chief

Environment & Housekeeping Manager), and Md. Saif (Chief Mechanical

Engineer/Planning & Freight)—along with other staff members, participated

enthusiastically in this voluntary activity.

roof of the Mechanical Headquarters and the surrounding areas. Approximately

0.5 tonnes (500 kg) of waste was collected and disposed of in accordance with

established protocols. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Chief Mechanical

Engineer Anil Kumar Dwivedi emphasized that cleanliness should not be limited

to a mere campaign but should become an integral part of the daily work culture

and lifestyle. He urged all officers and staff to keep their workplaces and

surroundings clean and to raise awareness about cleanliness among others.

This 'Shramdaan' event, organized under the 'Swachhata Hi

Seva' Fortnight-2026, conveyed the message: Voluntary effort for

cleanliness, a contribution towards a clean environment.
