
Prayagraj, 19 Sept (HS): Under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva'
(Cleanliness is Service) Fortnight-2026, and following the directives of North
Central Railway General Manager Naresh Pal Singh, the Mechanical Department of
the NCR Headquarters organized a special 'Shramdaan' event on the roof of the
Mechanical Headquarters building. The initiative aimed to raise awareness
regarding cleanliness and environmental conservation.
The event was led by Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Anil
Kumar Dwivedi. Officers from the Mechanical Department—including Suraj Prakash
(Chief Rolling Stock Engineer/Freight), Rakesh Gautam (Chief Workshop
Engineer), R.K. Jatav (Chief Motive Power Engineer/Diesel), Manish Kumar (Chief
Environment & Housekeeping Manager), and Md. Saif (Chief Mechanical
Engineer/Planning & Freight)—along with other staff members, participated
enthusiastically in this voluntary activity.
During the event, accumulated waste was cleared from the
roof of the Mechanical Headquarters and the surrounding areas. Approximately
0.5 tonnes (500 kg) of waste was collected and disposed of in accordance with
established protocols. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Chief Mechanical
Engineer Anil Kumar Dwivedi emphasized that cleanliness should not be limited
to a mere campaign but should become an integral part of the daily work culture
and lifestyle. He urged all officers and staff to keep their workplaces and
surroundings clean and to raise awareness about cleanliness among others.
This 'Shramdaan' event, organized under the 'Swachhata Hi
Seva' Fortnight-2026, conveyed the message: Voluntary effort for
cleanliness, a contribution towards a clean environment.
The event was organized by the Environment and Housekeeping
Section of the Mechanical Headquarters, North Central Railway.
