Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed the Balram Krishi Mahotsav held in Satna virtually from Ujjain

Bhopal, 19 September (H.S.): Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said the state and the Vindhya region have immense potential for tourism development, with their natural beauty, forests, waterfalls and religious destinations attracting visitors.

Shukla was addressing a programme organised under the Maa Tujhe Salaam Yojana in Rewa on Saturday. On the occasion, he flagged off a group of youth from Bhopal division for a tour of Rewa district under the scheme. The programme was organised by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare.

During the two-day tour, the youth will visit the Mahamrityunjay Temple, museum, White Tiger Safari, Purwa Falls and Basaman Mama Cow Sanctuary in Rewa district.

Shukla said the Rewa division has several important tourist destinations, including Maihar, Chitrakoot and Amarkantak. He also mentioned Mukundpur White Tiger Safari, Panna National Park, Sanjay Tiger Reserve, Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve and Sanjay Dubri Sanctuary among the tourist attractions in the region.

He said Rewa has road connectivity from different directions and is also connected by rail. ATR 72 flight services connect the city with five major cities, he said, adding that visitors also come to Rewa during weekends to explore nearby areas.

Shukla said a 750 MW solar power plant in Rewa supplies power to the Delhi Metro. He also highlighted the natural farming model developed at the Basaman Mama Cow Sanctuary, where more than 9,000 cows are sheltered.

He said cow rearing and natural farming would contribute to the health and well-being of future generations. A healthy younger generation would be better placed to benefit from development initiatives, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the goal of making India a fully developed nation and a Vishwaguru by 2047. He said the youth of today would benefit from the development taking place under this vision.

Divisional Sports Officer M.K. Dholpuri said the group includes youth from Bhopal, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha and Rajgarh districts. The participants will undertake a two-day tour of Rewa district.

Municipal Corporation president Venkatesh Pandey, Rajagopal Mishrachari, other public representatives and youth were present at the programme.
